Ardabīl: Ardabīl is a province located in the Northwest of Iran. The East border of Ardebil is very close to the Caspian Sea, only buffered by the Gilan Province. On the Western border, is the East Azerbaijan border, and just South, the Zanjan. Ardebil has considerable amount of mountainous areas, with an average altitude around 3,000 meters above sea level. This makes for a considerably cold winder, and somewhat mild summer Season. Some historians believe the history of the Ardebil town may be traced so far back as the 5th century A.D. Aside from age, Ardebil played a crucial role in trade between Europe and the East especially around the Safavid Period, and trade of the Silk Road. Today, tourism if of great interest, attractions including historic mausoleums and natural thermal springs.  Today, the predominant inhabitants are the Azeri people.
